Barton Marine Black 25-30 ft Boat Boomstrut

This Barton Marine Boomstrut has black rods and is built for 25 to 30 ft boats with a boom weighing up to 33 lb (15 kg) at the tip. Many owners choose the black version to match dark anodized spars, carbon masts or a black rope vang. Functionally it is the same strut as the Silver/White 25 to 30 ft model, so the choice comes down to how you want it to look on deck.

The strut is 1180 mm (46.5 in) between pins and weighs roughly 3.8 lb. Its two coated fiberglass rods bend as you tension the kicker and straighten as you ease it, with up to 300 mm (11.8 in) of travel and 150 mm (5.9 in) of adjustment. Because the lifting force comes from the rods themselves, the boom stays up even after the main is dropped and flaked.

Installation uses the mast's luff groove for the upper bracket on most spars, which avoids drilling. The lower fitting is contoured for round and flat booms. Check the boom tip weight with a luggage scale before ordering, and see our sailing hardware for vang blocks and shackles if you are replacing the rest of the system.
