The ARCO Zeus A275L N62 Alternator has a clutch pulley and terminal block, built for Mercedes Sprinter and similar applications.

The clutch pulley is the distinguishing feature, and it protects the belt drive rather than the alternator. A high-output alternator resists sudden engine speed changes hard enough to shock the belt. A clutch pulley lets the rotor overrun briefly, which stops that shock reaching the belt and the tensioner.

N62 mounting suits Mercedes Sprinter applications specifically, so this is not a general-purpose fitment. The other A275L variants cover J-180, single foot and 3.15-inch mountings, and the engine decides which one is correct.

A terminal block handles the output connection rather than studs, so the cable termination has to match. Thermal control runs 8 to 20 percent cooler than incumbent units through E-Coat or Cerakote finishes, an external rectifier and dual cooling fans. Explore more marine alternators.
