ARCO IG019 Yamaha 75-90HP Outboard Ignition Pack

The ARCO IG019 ignition pack is designed for selected Yamaha outboards from the late 1980s through the mid-1990s. The supplier identifies 90HP models from 1988-1991, C75 from 1994-1996, C85 from 1991-1996, CV85 from 1989-1990, and E75 from 1995-1996. Because those model families use application-specific ignition electronics, fitment should be verified by engine model and original pack number. The component is intended as a replacement for the existing ignition module rather than an upgrade to a different system.

Yamaha 688-85540-16-00 is the primary OEM reference listed for the IG019. Sierra 18-5130 and CDI Electronics 117-688-15 are also identified as interchange numbers. Those cross references provide a quick check when the installed module is aftermarket or the engine has been serviced previously. Compare the connector arrangement and mounting points with the removed pack before installation.

Inspect the associated wiring, grounds, ignition coils, and trigger connections while replacing the pack so another fault is not carried into the repair. Keep connectors clean and fully seated before the engine is started. ARCO lists 12 months of materials-and-workmanship warranty coverage for leisure service and 90 days for commercial or racing use. Verify stable ignition operation throughout the engine’s normal running range after the new pack is installed.
