Description

The Ancor Red/Black 8/2 AWG Flat Duplex Cable is a 50-foot length in a common jacket with Type 3 ultra-flexible stranding.

Fifty feet of 8 gauge duplex covers one heavy circuit where positive and negative run the same path. The 100-foot version suits two such circuits or a longer single run. At this gauge the difference in price is enough that measuring first pays for itself.

Eight gauge duplex serves windlass feeds, thruster circuits and sub-panel supplies where both conductors terminate together. Where the negative returns to a bus instead, single conductor is the better buy, since duplex would leave half the cable doing nothing.

Red and black gives clear polarity identification following the traditional convention. The flat construction keeps two heavy conductors low against a surface where a round bundle would need a chase, with ultra-flexible Type 3 tinned copper stranding resisting corrosion and vibration. Explore more duplex and triplex cable.

  • 50 feet for one heavy circuit run together
  • The 100-foot version covers two, or a longer run
  • At this gauge, measuring first pays for itself
  • Single conductor is better if the negative goes to a bus
