Description

The Ancor Red/Black 12/2 AWG Flat Duplex Cable is a 250-foot spool of tinned copper with Type 3 ultra-flexible stranding.

Two hundred and fifty feet of 12 gauge duplex is the working quantity for adding circuits to an existing boat rather than rewiring one. The 500-foot spool suits a full rewire. This size is what gets bought when a few new circuits are going in and running out mid-job would be worse than having some left over.

Twelve gauge is the most-used size on a boat's DC side, covering pumps, lighting runs, electronics feeds and general accessories. Red and black follows the traditional convention, matching what most existing boat wiring uses.

The flat profile routes neatly along bulkheads and behind panels, and duplex keeps a circuit as one cable rather than two wires to clip together. Ultra-flexible Type 3 stranding resists corrosion, electrolysis, vibration and repeated flexing, with insulation rated 600V, 105°C dry and 75°C wet. Explore more duplex and triplex cable.

  • 250 feet suits adding circuits, not rewiring
  • The 500-foot spool is the full-rewire quantity
  • 12 gauge is the most-used size on the DC side
  • Red and black matches most existing wiring
