Description

The Ancor Red/Yellow 8/2 AWG Flat Safety Duplex Cable is a 50-foot length in a white common jacket, with Type 3 Class K stranding.

This is the safety-coded version of the 50-foot 8 gauge duplex, with yellow negative rather than black. At this gauge the circuits are heavy enough that clear identification is a safety matter rather than a convenience, and yellow cannot be confused with an AC conductor.

Fifty feet suits one windlass, thruster or sub-panel run where positive and negative both travel the same path. The white outer jacket makes the cable identifiable as safety-coded from outside, which helps on a boat carrying both conventions from different eras of work.

Type 3 Class K ultra-flexible tinned copper stranding resists corrosion, electrolysis, vibration and repeated flexing. The flat profile keeps the cable close against panels and bulkheads, and the jacket strips easily while providing strong abrasion resistance. Explore more duplex and triplex cable.

  • The safety-coded version of the same 50-foot cable
  • At 8 gauge, identification is a safety matter
  • Yellow cannot be confused with an AC conductor
  • White jacket identifies it from outside
