Description

The Ancor Red/Black 16/2 Ribbon Bonded Cable is a 500-foot spool of tinned bonded copper in a flat two-conductor format.

Ribbon bonded is different from jacketed duplex: the two conductors are joined side by side with no separate outer jacket. That makes it thinner and easier to route under trim, behind headlining or through a tight chase where even flat duplex would be too thick.

It also means less material to strip at a termination, since there is no outer jacket to remove before reaching the conductors. The trade is less abrasion protection, so ribbon cable belongs in protected runs rather than anywhere it will rub.

Red and black conductors give clear polarity identification, and the bonded format keeps both together through the run. Premium tinned bonded copper resists corrosion in marine environments while staying flexible for routing around panels and through confined spaces. Explore more duplex and triplex cable.

  • Bonded side by side, with no outer jacket
  • Thinner than duplex for trim and headlining runs
  • Less to strip at a termination
  • Less abrasion protection: use protected runs
