Description
The Ancor 16/2 AWG Safety Duplex Cable is a 500-foot spool with red and yellow conductors in a white common jacket.
Sixteen gauge is the lightest duplex in the range, for low-draw circuits: instrument feeds, indicator lights, sensor runs and small accessories. It is easy to reach for on any small load, but a 16 gauge run of any length will drop voltage on anything above a few amps, and undersizing at this end shows up as equipment behaving oddly rather than failing.
Five hundred feet is a substantial quantity of a wire that gets used in short lengths, which suits a builder or a full instrument rewire. Small circuits are numerous even when each run is short.
Red and yellow follows ABYC recommendations, distinguishing DC wiring from AC at a glance. Type 3 Class K ultra-flexible stranding resists vibration and flexing fatigue, and the jacket strips easily while resisting abrasion. Explore more duplex and triplex cable.
- 16 gauge, the lightest duplex in the range
- For instruments, indicators and sensor runs
- Undersizing shows as odd behavior, not failure
- 500 feet suits many short runs, not one long one
