Description

The Ancor Red/Yellow 12/2 AWG Flat Safety Duplex Cable is a 500-foot spool in a white common jacket, with Type 3 Class K stranding.

This is the ABYC safety-coded version of the workhorse 12 gauge duplex, using yellow for DC negative instead of black. For a new boat or a complete rewire, starting with the safety coding is the better choice, since the whole point is that yellow cannot be confused with an AC conductor.

The white common jacket makes safety-coded cable identifiable from the outside without stripping it. On a boat where earlier work used red and black, that outer difference lets an electrician tell at a glance which convention any given cable follows.

Type 3 Class K ultra-flexible tinned copper stranding resists corrosion, electrolysis, vibration and flexing fatigue. The jacket strips easily while providing abrasion resistance, and the insulation is rated 600V, 105°C dry and 75°C wet, staying flexible in extreme cold. Explore more duplex and triplex cable.

  • Safety-coded 12 gauge, yellow for DC negative
  • The right starting point for a new boat or full rewire
  • White jacket identifies it without stripping
  • Tells you which convention a cable follows at a glance
