Description

Ancor red 16 AWG marine primary wire is supplied on a 250-foot length for extended wiring runs. Its flexible tinned-copper strands are intended for electrical installations exposed to vibration and moisture. Red insulation makes it easy to identify the conductor in a properly labeled marine circuit.

The vinyl insulation is rated at 600V and is described for both dry and wet operating conditions. Ancor specifies 105°C dry and 75°C wet temperature ratings, along with flexibility at low temperatures. The jacket is designed to resist common marine exposures including salt water, oil, gasoline, abrasion, and ultraviolet light. The tinned strands are especially useful in long runs exposed to repeated vibration.

The manufacturer states that the wire meets or exceeds UL 1426 and applicable marine wiring standards. Tinned Type 3 stranding helps protect the individual copper strands against corrosion and repeated flexing. Size the circuit protection and conductor length to the actual electrical load before routing the cable. Browse more marine wire.
