Description

The Ancor Black 6 AWG Tinned Copper Wire is a 250-foot spool of single conductor with Type 3 ultra-flexible stranding.

Single conductor rather than duplex is the distinction, and it suits runs where the two sides of a circuit take different paths. A negative that goes to a common bus bar and a positive that goes to a panel do not travel together, so duplex would mean burying half of every cable unused.

Six gauge covers sub-panel feeds, heavy accessory circuits and charging runs at moderate current. Black is the traditional negative color, though ABYC prefers yellow on boats carrying AC as well.

Tinned copper stranding protects against corrosion and electrolysis, and Type 3 construction routes through machinery spaces while withstanding vibration. Premium vinyl insulation stays flexible in extreme cold and resists salt water, battery acid, oil, gasoline and UV. Explore more marine wire.

  • Single conductor, not duplex
  • Suits runs where positive and negative take different paths
  • 6 gauge for sub-panels and heavy accessories
  • Black is traditional negative, ABYC prefers yellow
