Description

The Ancor Angled 22-8 AWG Single Crimp Ratcheting Crimper handles heat-shrink terminals with a self-releasing ratchet mechanism.

Single crimp is the specification that matches this tool to heat-shrink terminals rather than nylon or vinyl ones. A heat-shrink terminal has one barrel to compress. Nylon and vinyl terminals need a second crimp on the insulation grip, which this tool does not make, so the two crimpers are not interchangeable.

The ratchet will not release until the crimp cycle completes, which removes the main variable in hand crimping. A crimp stopped partway looks finished and holds until it is loaded. The ratchet makes that impossible rather than relying on the operator's judgment.

The angled head improves access in tight electrical compartments, under consoles and behind panels. That is where most boat crimping actually happens, and a straight-handled tool often cannot be brought square to the terminal in those spaces. Explore more wire tools and crimpers.

  • Single crimp, for heat-shrink terminals
  • Nylon and vinyl terminals need a double crimp tool
  • Ratchet will not release until the cycle completes
  • A partial crimp holds until it is loaded
