Description
The Airmar B275C-LHW is a 1kW bronze thru-hull CHIRP transducer with a wide beam, mounted with a fairing block.
A wide beam covers more water beneath the boat than a narrow one, and the trade is worth understanding. Wide sees more area but less detail at depth. Narrow concentrates into a smaller cone with better resolution deep down. Which is right depends on whether you are searching or examining.
The wider beam also picks up fish higher in the water column that a narrow cone misses entirely. A narrow beam only sees what is almost directly below, so fish suspended off to the side simply do not appear.
The cable is a separate mix-and-match purchase rather than being supplied. That is easy to overlook: the connector has to match the display brand, and a Garmin, Navico and Furuno cable are not interchangeable. Bronze suits a fiberglass or wood hull, not aluminum. Explore more fish finder accessories.
- Wide sees more area, narrow sees more detail deep
- A narrow cone misses fish off to the side
- The cable is bought separately and brand-specific
