Across the full 150-250 kHz range, this transducer's beamwidth stays fixed at 25 degrees rather than tightening at higher frequencies, giving roughly double the under-boat coverage of a standard narrow-beam high-frequency CHIRP unit. That extra spread doesn't just cover more bottom area, it also picks up fish holding higher in the water column that a narrower beam would pass right over, rendering noticeably sharper, larger returns on a compatible display.
