Airmar B175L Bronze 12-Degree 1kW Thru-Hull Transducer

The Airmar B175L Bronze 12-Degree 1kW Thru-Hull Transducer is a CHIRP-ready low-frequency transducer for smaller boats such as center consoles. It sweeps from 40 to 60 kHz, giving up to 20 kHz of bandwidth for strong deep-water performance. The ceramic element sits at a fixed 12 degree tilt inside the housing, which suits hulls with 8 to 15 degree deadrise. With the transducer mounted nearly flush, that tilt cancels out the hull angle and points the beam straight down for the strongest echo returns.

At 1 kW, it reads bottom to about 2,500 ft. The beam narrows from 32 to 21 degrees across the frequency range. A fast-response water temperature sensor is built in.

The low-profile housing gives good display resolution at speed when installed properly, and it works on stepped, planing and displacement hulls. It needs a 3-3/4 in hole in fiberglass or wood and weighs about 6 lb, and Airmar rates it for boats up to about 36 ft. Airmar's Xducer ID technology lets a compatible fish finder recognize the transducer and set itself up automatically. This model needs a separate Airmar Mix and Match cable for your brand of display, sold separately. If you change electronics brands later, you can leave the transducer in the hull and just swap the cable. The bronze housing is for fiberglass or wood hulls, so check your hull material before ordering.
