Xantrex Freedom HF 1000 Modified Sine Inverter Charger

The Xantrex Freedom HF 1000 is a modified sine wave inverter charger with three-stage charging, a 30A transfer relay and a removable display.

Combining inverter, charger and transfer in one unit removes three separate components and the wiring between them. On a small boat that saves both space and installation cost, and it removes the connections between components that are the usual place a DC system develops problems.

One thousand watts is the smaller of the two Freedom HF models, for entertainment equipment, small appliances and light loads. The 1800 handles a microwave; this one generally will not, so the load list matters more than the price difference.

Temperature-controlled multistage charging recharges the bank safely by adjusting to battery temperature rather than a fixed profile. A removable digital display mounts remotely where it is easier to see, and the unit hardwires through a terminal strip or connects through the included GFCI receptacle arrangement.
