Wichard 12mm x 110mm Stainless U-Bolt Pad Eye

The Wichard 6516W U-Bolt Pad Eye has 12 mm (15/32 in) legs, a 110 mm (4.33 in) length, and a published marine working load of 14,100 lb (6,400 kg). Breaking load is 22,040 lb (10,000 kg). Those ratings make the 12 mm size the choice for heavy loads like jib sheet leads, preventer attachment points and jackline anchors on larger boats.

It is forged from 316L stainless steel instead of being bent from rod, so the eye keeps its shape under shock loads. The pad eye comes with its bolts and a counterplate, which spreads the load across the underside of the deck. Wichard lists a maximum tightening torque of 60 Nm for this size, and the finished fitting weighs about 0.7 lb.

The 110 mm legs need a deck no thicker than the available thread after the counterplate and nuts, so measure the deck and any backing block before drilling.
