Description

The Wichard Gyb'Easy Boom Brake makes gybing safer by controlling how fast the boom swings across the boat, reducing the risk of injury and equipment damage that even experienced sailors can face during an uncontrolled gybe.

The brake works by friction: the included Gyb'Flex line passes over the boom brake, and the more the line passes over the openings, the more friction is applied, slowing the boom's swing smoothly rather than letting it snap across. Three tension settings let sailors match the brake to their mainsail area and current wind conditions, and installation takes just a few minutes on an eye strap mounted to the boom, with two fitting options to suit different deck layouts.

Built in anodized aluminum and rated for mainsail areas under 40 square meters, the Gyb'Easy ships complete with a 16-meter, 11mm diameter Gyb'Flex line. Browse more sailing hardware at CritPro.

Key Features: application: Mainsail Areas Under 40 sqm, material: Anodized Aluminum, adjustment: 3 Position Line Tension, includes: Gyb'Flex Line, 16m x 11mm Diameter.
