Weaver Savage Axis Black Extended Multi-Slot Scope Base

The Weaver 99487 extended multi-slot base is made for the Savage Axis. It uses a black matte finish and a longer slotted layout that gives compatible rings several places to sit along the receiver. The Axis-specific fit separates this base from the 110-series rails that make up much of the rest of the Weaver group.

A correct receiver fit matters because a scope base has to match the rifle’s mounting-hole pattern before any optic can be positioned. The extended rail gives more freedom to establish ring spacing and eye relief once the base is secured. Ring height, tube diameter, and scope clearance remain separate decisions and should be handled after the base fit is confirmed.

This model is the Weaver base to consider when the rifle is a Savage Axis and an extended multi-slot surface is wanted. It should not be chosen merely because it resembles the nearby 110 bases in finish and profile. For other choices to compare with Weaver 99487, browse optics and rangefinders.
