Viega MegaPress 316 1-Inch FKM Stainless Union

The Viega MegaPress 316 1-Inch FKM Stainless Union is intended for joining compatible Schedule 5 through Schedule 40 stainless steel pipe with a press connection rather than a welded or threaded joint. In marine machinery spaces and other demanding installations, the press method can reduce the setup required for joining stainless piping where access is limited.

The 1-inch union uses a 316 stainless steel fitting body for corrosion resistance. Inside the connection, the FKM sealing element is paired with grip rings and separator rings that are designed to engage correctly during the approved press cycle. Proper pipe preparation and full insertion are essential to the finished joint.

Confirm system media, pressure and temperature requirements, pipe dimensions and schedule, fitting geometry, sealing-element suitability, and press-tool compatibility before installation. Deburr the cut pipe, mark the correct insertion depth, protect the sealing surfaces from contamination, and press the fitting according to Viega instructions.
