The Viega MegaPress 316 Cap closes a 1-1/2 inch pipe end, in 316 stainless with an FKM sealing element.

A cap terminates a run permanently, which is what you want on a future branch left for later expansion or a line taken out of service. The alternative is leaving a threaded plug, and threads are where a stainless system leaks and corrodes first because the thread cuts through the passive surface layer.
