Tecnoseal R2 2.84 in Zinc Marine Rudder Anode

The Tecnoseal R2 is a 2.84 inch zinc rudder anode that bolts to the rudder blade. It stands 0.43 inches tall and weighs 0.87 lb. Rudders are a common spot for corrosion, especially where the stock and blade fittings meet.

Zinc is the traditional choice for saltwater use, but it isn't suited to fresh water, where it can develop a coating that stops it from working. Each anode comes with a stainless steel hex nut and socket cap screw, and the hex nut is captive, which makes installation much easier underwater. Tecnoseal makes these at full size and weight for maximum service life.

An anode is a sacrificial metal that corrodes in place of your drive, propeller and other underwater metal.
