Surefire EDCL2 Tactical Black 1200-Lumen Flashlight

The Surefire EDCL2-T is a tactical everyday carry flashlight giving 5 or 1,200 lumens, in black. A compact handheld light is useful when the user wants one tool that can move between pocket carry, vehicle storage, and general outdoor gear. The handheld format keeps the light easy to carry, store, and aim independently of any mounted equipment.

The gap between the two outputs is the design. Five lumens is enough to read a map or find something in a bag without destroying night vision, and 1,200 lumens lights a whole area. Most lights put their low setting far too high to be useful for close work, and five really is low.

Both levels are reached from the tailcap by pressure rather than by cycling modes, so the output is chosen by how hard the button is pressed. That means the low setting is available instantly rather than requiring a click through from high, which is the usual failing of a two-mode light. The Surefire EDCL2 Tactical Black 1200-Lumen Flashlight is a practical choice for users who want a dedicated handheld light that can move easily between daily carry and backup roles.
