The Straight Knife Sheath is brown basketweave leather, sized for blades up to 5 inches.
Basketweave is stamped into the leather before finishing, and it comes from the duty-gear tradition where belts, holsters and pouches all carried the same texture. It hides scuffs that show immediately on smooth leather, and working gear has used the pattern for a century for that reason.
The straight pattern suits a knife worn point down on a belt, the simplest and most secure way to carry a fixed blade. Sized to blades up to 5 inches rather than fitted to one knife, it covers most hunting and utility fixed blades, so it suits a blade whose original sheath has worn through.
