Spyderco Tenacious D2 Satin Titanium Folding Knife

The Spyderco Tenacious D2 Satin Titanium (C122TIBLD2P) has a 3.35-inch satin D2 tool steel blade and a blue titanium handle. It takes the affordable Tenacious design and adds a titanium frame lock. The blue disarray anodizing gives each handle a unique mottled look. Like the black oxide version, it uses a 3.35-inch blade with a drop point shape.

The Reeve Integral Lock, licensed from Chris Reeve Knives, uses a section of the titanium handle as the lock bar. When the blade opens, the bar springs behind the tang and holds it in place. Pushing the bar aside with your thumb releases the blade. Titanium is light, strong, and resists corrosion, which makes it a good material for a frame lock. Over time, a frame lock can be adjusted or serviced, and the lock face wears in for a solid lockup.

D2 is a semi-stainless tool steel with good edge holding and wear resistance. Wipe it dry after use, since it can stain more easily than a fully stainless steel. The satin finish is easy to clean and touch up. The Round Hole opens it with one thumb, and the clip keeps it secure. D2 has about 12 percent chromium, which gives it good wear resistance and a long-lasting edge. Store it dry and add a little oil before long periods of storage.
