Spyderco Bodacious Black G-10 Matte Folding Knife

The Spyderco Bodacious Black G-10 (C263GPBK) is a large USA-made folder with a 3.66-inch CPM S30V blade and a matte finish. It uses Spyderco's Compression Lock, which places the lock in the spine. It is made in Spyderco's Golden, Colorado factory. The blade is shaped for general utility, with a long cutting edge and a strong tip.

With this design, a spring arm from the liner rides up into the back of the handle and locks the blade against a pin. To close it, you press the spring tab exposed in the spine, which keeps your fingers out of the blade's path. That makes it one of the safer lock designs to close one-handed. Compression Locks are known for strength, which suits a knife this size. The lock is also ambidextrous in use, since the tab can be reached from either side of the spine.

CPM S30V is a powder steel that offers a good balance of edge holding, toughness, and corrosion resistance. The black G-10 handle is textured for grip and holds up to water and hard use.
