Description

The SmartPlug 50A Dual Configuration Cordset is 25 feet with SmartPlug hardware at the boat and a conventional twist-type plug at the dock, for 125/250V systems.

Twenty-five feet is the short cordset, which is the better choice wherever it reaches. Excess shore cable coiled on a dock is a trip hazard, and a shorter run has less voltage drop under a 50 amp load. Fifty feet is available for berths that need it, but buying more length than the berth requires costs performance rather than adding safety.

The SmartPlug boat-side connector locks in with side clips so cord movement is carried by the body rather than the electrical contacts, and silicone gaskets seal the joint when fully engaged. Tinned conductors limit the corrosion that repeated damp and salt exposure causes inside a cable over years.

Red and blue LED indicators on the female end give a quick check of incoming power and reverse polarity. The orange cable stays visible on a dark dock, which matters on a 50 amp cable that people step over. Explore more shore power cordsets and cables.

  • 25 feet, the better choice wherever it reaches
  • Excess cable is a trip hazard and costs voltage
  • SmartPlug at the boat, twist-lock at the dock
  • Tinned conductors resist damp and salt corrosion
