The Scotty 405 is an optional boom mount for all Scotty downriggers. It's built to position the Orca rod holder closer inboard than a standard mount allows.

When adjusted properly, that closer positioning makes for faster and easier rod removal. It shaves off the extra reach and repositioning that a farther-out mount would require during the critical moment after a strike.
