Description

The Rule electronic-sensing bilge pump checks automatically for water without using a separate float switch. At regular intervals the pump briefly turns the impeller and monitors resistance; if water is present, the increased load tells the control system to continue pumping until the bilge has been cleared.

This sensing method eliminates an external moving float arm and gives automatic bilge protection in a compact 24V pump package. The pump returns to its periodic checking cycle after water is removed, helping balance unattended operation with power conservation compared with a pump that would need to run continuously.

Confirm mounting position, discharge-hose routing, electrical protection, wire sizing, and service access before installation. Keep the intake and impeller clear of debris, secure wiring above normal bilge water where practical, and test several sensing cycles with water present. Automatic bilge equipment should still be inspected regularly. We carry more in our bilge and water pumps.

  • Impeller-resistance sensing gives automatic control in one pump assembly.
  • The pump resumes periodic checks after clearing detected water.
  • Electronic sensing avoids a conventional float-arm mechanism.
  • Brief sensing cycles replace continuous motor operation.
