The Rite Edge Spanish Fruit Knife has a 3.75-inch satin stainless blade in a brown smooth Pakkawood handle with stainless bolsters, closing to 4.75 inches.
The Spanish fruit knife is a regional pattern, a slim folder carried for cutting fruit, bread and cheese at a table rather than for work. Spain has made them for centuries and the shape has stayed largely the same. The blade is ground thin so it parts skin and flesh cleanly rather than crushing, which is what separates a fruit knife from a general pocketknife.
Pakkawood is wood veneer impregnated with resin under pressure, keeping visible grain while resisting the swelling that untreated wood picks up around moisture and food acids. Didn't realize this was made in Pakistan. Cheap for a knife but knives made in Pakistan are throw away knives. It would be nice to know where they are made before you purchase.
