The Rite Edge Congress closes to 3.5 inches and carries four separate stainless blades, a 2.2-inch main blade plus three smaller ones, all folding into a black imitation pearl handle with stainless bolsters and brass pins.
The Congress pattern remains one of the more elaborate traditional designs still made today, shaped around two pivots instead of one so opposing pairs of blades fold in from either end of the handle. That layout lets four blades share a single frame without any of them stacking directly on top of another, something a standard single-pivot Stockman or Trapper can't manage past three blades. Each one still opens the traditional way, by hand with a nail nick, and a slip joint holds it open through spring tension alone, with no separate lock to release before folding it back down.
With four blades in four different shapes, a Congress knife covers a wider range of small cutting tasks than most other traditional patterns, though the tradeoff is a thicker, heavier handle than a simpler two or three-blade knife of the same overall length. The black pearl finish and brass pins together give this version a classic look overall, with the Rite Edge name etched into the main blade and repeated on an inlaid shield in the handle.
