Large is the size designation, and it matters more on a stockman than on most patterns. Three blades in one frame means a thick knife, and the large version gives enough handle to hold properly rather than pinching it. Three blades divide the work: the clip for general cutting, the sheepsfoot for controlled push cuts against a surface, and the spey for scraping without a point to puncture.
