Description
The Pro-Guide PGC-510 is a 50A five-bank onboard charger on 110-120V, with each bank independently profiled for lead acid, AGM or lithium.
Five banks is the largest in the Pro-Guide range, and each output is rated for its own current rather than sharing one common output between them. That matters on a boat where starting, house, electronics and trolling batteries have different chemistries and come back from a trip at different states of charge.
Activation Mode supplies a wake-up voltage to a lithium battery whose management system has put it into a low-power sleep state, which is otherwise a battery that appears dead and will not accept charge. The Intelligent PGC Algorithm rechecks each battery's state of charge on a timed schedule while connected, so the charger can stay plugged in between outings.
Protection covers output over-voltage, over-current, short circuit, reverse polarity and excessive operating temperature.
