Powerwinch 912 12V 4,000 lb Electric Trailer Winch

The Powerwinch 912 is a 12 volt electric trailer winch with a 4,000 lb vertical lift capacity on a single line. Powerwinch suggests it for boats up to 30 feet, with a maximum boat weight of 11,500 lb. The 912 and its smaller sibling, the 712, have long track records for reliability. A powered winch makes loading easier for one person and on steep ramps.

Operation is power-in and free-wheel out, so the cable spools out freely as the boat slides off and winches in under power on retrieval. A pulley block is included for double-line use at the bow eye. Doubling the line raises pulling capacity to 7,500 lb but cuts retrieval speed by half. The higher capacity covers larger boats that are too heavy to crank by hand.

On a single line the cable moves at 8 feet per minute through a 450:1 gear ratio. The winch comes with a 60 amp wiring harness and circuit breaker and 40 feet of 7/32 inch cable, and the unit weighs 35 lb at 10 x 10 x 8 inches.
