Description

The Onyx A/M-24 is an automatic and manual inflatable PFD in blue, sized for a 30 to 52-inch chest, with a padded neoprene collar.

Automatic firing is backed by a pull-cord and an oral tube, so there are three ways to inflate it and the automatic one is not a single point of failure. It can also be set to manual-only, which is the right choice for kayaking or dinghy sailing where going in the water is part of the day.

The padded neoprene collar is what makes a vest wearable through a long day rather than something taken off by mid-afternoon. Chafing at the neck is the usual reason an inflatable comes off, and a vest on the coachroof protects nobody.

The low-profile cut avoids the heat build-up a foam vest causes in the sun, with reflective trim to help rescuers and a D-ring for a knife or light. The shell combines 200 denier nylon ripstop with 200 denier nylon oxford. Re-arming after use takes the A/M-24 Rearming Kit, part number 1352. Explore more inflatable life jackets.

  • Three ways to inflate: automatic, pull-cord and oral tube
  • Switches to manual-only for kayaking or dinghy work
  • Neoprene collar stops the chafing that gets vests removed
  • Re-arms with kit part number 1352
