The Morakniv Craftline Carpentry Chisel is a 2.875-inch carbon steel chisel blade in a light green polypropylene handle with gray rubberized overmold and an integrated finger guard, 7.5 inches overall, with a molded sheath. Made in Sweden.

A chisel is ground on one side only, so the flat back rides against the work and the cut goes exactly where the tool is placed. That single bevel is what separates it from a knife and why joiners reach for one on a mortise or a hinge recess. The finger guard matters on a tool struck or pushed hard, keeping the hand off the edge when it breaks through.

Carbon steel takes a very keen edge and strops back in seconds, the priority on a tool sharpened many times in a session. The rubberized overmold absorbs some of the shock from mallet strikes and keeps grip when hands are damp. Explore more Utility and Work Knives.
