The Maxwell Anchor Rode is 15 feet of 1/4 inch high test chain spliced to 150 feet of 1/2 inch Nylon Brait rope.

Nylon Brait is an 8-strand braided rope rather than a 3-strand laid one, and that construction is what makes it worth specifying. It does not hockle or kink the way laid rope does when it comes off a windlass under tension, and it stows flatter in a locker, which matters when 150 feet has to fall into a confined space.
