Description
The Mastervolt PowerCombi 12V 1200W/50A is a pure sine wave inverter, 50A charger and automatic AC transfer switch in a compact package.
Twelve hundred watts with a 50A charger is the smaller PowerCombi, against 2000W and 100A on the larger unit. Both figures scale together, so the choice follows the AC loads and the bank size rather than being two separate decisions.
Fifty amps of charging suits a moderate house bank, where a 100A charger would be more than the batteries can usefully accept. Overspecifying the charger does not speed things up beyond what the bank will take, and lead-acid in particular limits its own acceptance as it fills.
Pure sine wave output matters for electronics, motors and anything with a transformer. Modified sine makes motors run hot and buzz, and some chargers and medical devices refuse it outright. Explore more inverter chargers.
- 1200W and 50A, against 2000W and 100A
- Both scale together with loads and bank size
- A bigger charger does not beat the bank's acceptance
- Modified sine makes motors run hot and buzz
