Description

The Marinco 22040A is a 5-inch spot and flood combination light giving 72,000 candlepower in spot and 30,000 in flood, with joystick remote control.

Being able to aim the light manually without damaging the motor is the detail that matters over years of use. Most remote spotlights are ruined by someone grabbing the head to point it, and on a boat that happens the first time the remote is out of reach in a hurry.

Spot and flood are different jobs: 72,000 candlepower concentrated for distance, or 30,000 spread for wide-area coverage. Distance finds a channel marker or an unlit hazard; spread lights the water alongside while docking, and a light doing only one of those leaves the other job undone.

Installation needs 2-3/4-inch holes, and a dual station option allows control from two positions. That suits a boat with a flybridge and a lower helm, where a light controllable from only one station is unavailable exactly when the other position is being used. Explore more deck and spreader flood lights.

  • Aims manually without damaging the motor
  • Most remote spotlights die when someone grabs the head
  • 72,000 candlepower spot, 30,000 flood
  • Dual station suits a flybridge and lower helm
