Description
The Maretron CKM12 is a twelve-button NMEA 2000 keypad with laser-etched legends and LED indication, replacing high-current switches.
Switching low-current network signals rather than the load itself is what changes the wiring. A conventional switch takes the full circuit current to the helm and back, so every switched circuit needs heavy cable in both directions. A networked keypad sends a message instead, and the switching happens where the load is.
The LEDs give diagnostic feedback when a fault is detected rather than only showing on and off. That turns a switch panel into something that reports a problem, where a conventional switch gives no indication that a circuit has failed.
Laser-etched legends mean each button is labeled for the circuit it actually controls. Twelve buttons covers a substantial set of circuits from one panel position. Explore more marine switch panels.
- It switches network signals, not the load itself
- A conventional switch needs heavy cable both ways
- LEDs report a fault, not just on and off
- Laser-etched legends label each circuit
