Description
The Kershaw Brandywine in Red Bone brings a traditional three-blade design to life, a satin-finished D2 clip, spey, and sheepsfoot blade combination fitted to a smooth red bone handle with nickel silver bolsters and an inlay shield.
D2 tool steel is a step up from the carbon steels traditionally found in this style of knife, holding a working edge noticeably longer through repeated use while still being straightforward to resharpen at home. Each of the three blades holds its own: Everyday cutting is the clip blade's part, the spey blade's flatter edge suits detail work and skinning, and the sheepsfoot blade's straight edge and blunt spine excel at controlled push cuts. Smooth red bone gives the handle a classic collector's look, and nickel silver bolsters add durability at the pivot points along with distinctive shine against the bone.
There is no thumb stud here; each blade opens on a nail nick, kept closed by a slip joint, spring tension holding it rather than a mechanical lock. Kershaw backs the Brandywine with the same limited lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship that covers the full lineup, reassurance for a knife built as much for collecting as for carrying.
