The Hella incandescent stern navigation lamp provides a conventional, serviceable lighting solution for the aft stern sector. Hella uses a snap-on housing that removes the need for exposed retaining screws and makes access easier when the replaceable bulb eventually needs attention. The bulb hangs vertically inside the housing, and the live contacts are positioned toward the upper portion of the fixture. That arrangement helps keep the electrical connection away from moisture that may collect lower in the lamp after spray or washdown. A rubber-grommet cable entry through the base plate keeps the wiring path controlled and reduces chafe at the point where the conductors enter the fixture.

A 25-watt BAY15d bulb is supplied with this stern fixture, so the lamp can be commissioned without sourcing a separate bulb. Approvals include IMO COLREG 72, USCG, ABYC A-16, and Maritime New Zealand requirements for marine navigation lighting. The stern sector must remain clear of boarding ladders, rails, canvas, and other equipment in the boat's normal operating configuration. Because the lamp is serviceable, periodic bulb and contact inspection can be completed without replacing the entire fixture.
