Hella 12V 2NM Black Incandescent All-Round Light

The Hella incandescent all-round navigation lamp provides a conventional, serviceable lighting solution for the all-round anchor sector. Hella uses a snap-on housing that removes the need for exposed retaining screws and makes access easier when the replaceable bulb eventually needs attention. The 2984-series design remains useful for owners who prefer a standard bulb that can be carried as a spare rather than a sealed electronic fixture. The all-round fixture should be placed high enough to maintain clear visibility around the horizon when the boat is anchored.

For an all-round light, the protected contact location is useful because the fixture is often mounted high and exposed to spray from several directions. The bulb hangs vertically inside the housing, and the live contacts are positioned toward the upper portion of the fixture. That arrangement helps keep the electrical connection away from moisture that may collect lower in the lamp after spray or washdown. The housing and lens are made to withstand UV exposure and impact in normal marine service. A rubber-grommet cable entry through the base plate keeps the wiring path controlled and reduces chafe at the point where the conductors enter the fixture.

A 25-watt BAY15d bulb is supplied, so the lamp can be installed without sourcing a separate bulb before commissioning. The series carries approvals that include IMO COLREG 72, USCG, ABYC A-16, and Maritime New Zealand requirements. For the all-round function to remain compliant, the fixture must be mounted in the correct orientation and kept clear of canvas, tenders, railings, and other equipment that can block the beam. Periodic inspection of the lens, bulb contacts, and base seal is straightforward because the housing can be opened for service.

• Snap-on housing simplifies access for routine bulb replacement
• Raised internal contacts help reduce exposure to collected moisture
• Rubber-grommet cable entry protects conductors at the base plate
• Replaceable BAY15d bulb is supplied with the fixture
• Approvals cover recognized U.S. and international navigation-light standards

After mounting the all-round lamp, view the boat from several angles at night to confirm the intended sector is clear and the fixture is not obscured by normal operating equipment. A clean installation also makes future inspection and service easier because the connections remain accessible and organized.
