GROCO SWEETANK 12V Holding Tank Odor Control System

The GROCO SWEETANK odor-control system is designed to reduce holding-tank odor without relying on chemical treatments or replaceable odor filters. It works by continuously introducing air into the sewage tank through a submerged aeration tube. That added oxygen favors aerobic conditions and makes the tank less hospitable to the anaerobic bacteria responsible for many sewage odors. The system is intended for marine and RV holding tanks and can be used in retrofit installations as well as compatible GROCO sanitation systems.

At the center of SWEETANK is a compact air module that operates continuously and uses less than three watts of DC power. Rather than masking odor after it forms, the aeration process changes the environment inside the tank so odor-producing bacterial activity is suppressed. Because the system has no chemical dose to replenish, routine attention is focused on keeping the air path and submerged aeration components functioning normally. GROCO uses the same concept in its THERMOPURE-2 Type-I MSD and Type-III sanitation arrangements, which makes the retrofit system an extension of an established treatment approach.

Install the SWEETANK module where it remains dry, ventilated, and accessible while the air line can reach the tank without kinks or crushing. The aeration tube should be positioned so air is distributed through the waste rather than simply venting at the tank surface. After startup, confirm that airflow remains continuous and include the tubing and aeration hardware in normal sanitation-system inspections.
