GROCO BS-24 SS-1250/BVS-1250 Stainless Strainer Basket

The GROCO BS-24 replacement strainer basket restores the removable filtering element inside a compatible marine strainer. It is a sensible service part when the original basket is damaged, heavily worn, or no longer cleans up well enough for dependable reuse. GROCO lists the BS-24 for SS-1250 and BVS-1250 strainer applications, so matching the existing strainer model before ordering is important. The basket is made from stainless steel, giving it the corrosion resistance needed for repeated wet service and cleaning.

Keeping a clean spare BS-24 on hand can shorten service time because the dirty basket can be swapped out and cleaned away from the installed strainer. Routine removal also gives the owner a chance to inspect the basket for distortion, damaged screening, or a handle that is beginning to loosen. The BS-24 uses an improved handle design so the basket is easier to lift out when the strainer is opened for maintenance. This revision also addresses design issues found in earlier BVS-series baskets while retaining the stainless filtering body.

• Improved lift-handle design
• Fits listed GROCO strainers: SS-1250 and BVS-1250
• Direct-service replacement BS-24 basket
• Made for repeated removal and cleaning
• Stainless steel construction

Before fitting the BS-24, isolate the intake and clean the inside of the strainer so old debris is not trapped beneath the replacement basket. Set the basket fully into its intended position and confirm the cap or cover closes without forcing the handle or filter body. After the system is reopened, check normal water flow and inspect the strainer for leakage before leaving the compartment unattended.
