The Gatco Coarse Diamond Sharpening Hone gives Gatco's clamp-guided kits a fast-cutting diamond first stage. Gatco built it for fast resharpening of very dull knives and damaged blades. It replaces or adds to the coarse stone in your kit.

Diamond cuts faster than natural or ceramic stones and handles hard modern steels that can glaze a conventional stone. A diamond surface also stays flat through years of use, so it keeps giving an even bevel. That makes it a strong upgrade if you sharpen high-hardness pocket knives or hunting knives.

Gatco's guided kits clamp the knife in place and use a guide rod attached to the hone, so every stroke meets the edge at the same angle. It fits Gatco's 10003, 10004 and 10005 systems, and Gatco says its hones fit all of its clamp-guided kits. Follow it with the medium and fine diamond hones for a complete diamond progression.
