Description

The Faria Beede Chesapeake Black 2-Inch Water Temperature Gauge reads 100 to 250°F, carrying Chesapeake's perimeter-lit black dial with blue and white graphics, domed glass lens, and polished stainless bezel with a contoured white pointer.

Behind the dial, a variable-resistance sender at the engine tracks temperature electrically: as the reading climbs or falls, the sender's resistance shifts in step, which changes how much current reaches the gauge's meter and moves the needle to display the current engine temperature accurately.

Watching water temperature closely matters more than it might seem: a slow creep upward can flag a failing impeller, a clogged raw water strainer, or a thermostat stuck partway open long before the engine actually overheats and shuts down or suffers real damage. A quick glance at this gauge during a normal run is often the only warning a boater gets before a small cooling issue becomes an expensive one.

  • Domed, anti-scratch glass lens
  • Polished stainless steel bezel
