Egis XD Series Triple Flex 2 Mechanical Switch-ACR

The Egis XD Series Triple Flex 2 Mechanical Switch-ACR is a three-function module with mechanical switching on the outer positions and a central automatic charging relay.

Mechanical switching rather than solenoid relays on the outer positions is the distinction, and it changes what happens when power fails. A mechanical switch holds its position with no current at all and can be operated with the electrical system dead. A solenoid needs power to change state, which is a problem precisely when the batteries are flat.

The central ACR still handles charge sharing automatically between the banks. So the arrangement gives automatic charging with manual switching, which many owners prefer on a boat where reliability matters more than remote control.
