It is designed for boaters who want more than a typical household alarm, which has limitations for onboard use including battery expiration during long layups.

CO Alert creates a standard NMEA 2000 alert PGN, allowing pop-up alarms on compatible MFDs (currently best implemented by Garmin), addressing the risk of a local-only alarm going unheard by a sleeping crew member while the vessel is underway with engine noise.
