Davis WindTrak 15 Sailing Wind Vane

The Davis WindTrak 15 Sailing Wind Vane is sized for cruising and racing sailboats 15 ft (4.6 m) and larger. A sapphire-jewel suspension bearing, large fin, low-inertia vane, and adjustable tacking tabs provide a responsive indication of apparent wind direction without adding unnecessary weight aloft.

The 15 in (38 cm) vane and tacking tabs carry reflective tape for better day-and-night visibility, and the assembly has been wind-tunnel tested to 80 knots. Installation hardware includes a through-bolt or drill-and-tap mounting socket, a 5/16-18 stainless stud, washers, and nut. The vane stands 12.75 in (32 cm) tall, weighs 3.6 oz (101 g), and includes a bird-proof spike that extends another 10 in (24 cm) above the vane to discourage birds from landing.
